For the first time since the industrial revolution, the UK is about to go a full 24 hours without using Coal to generate electricity. According to a tweet from the UK national grid control room, today is likely to be the first day to achieve that milestone!
It looks likely today will be the first working day in Britain without coal power since the industrial revolution!

A significant reason for this is the implementation of solar PV, which has grown dramatically in the country and produced as much electricity “as much capacity at seven nuclear reactors”
And the UK has a fraction of the solar power potential that we have in Sunny South Africa!
